A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a typographical error. The downside of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam messages, but this issue can be resolved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound messages to a 3rd-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting
In case you’ve got a shared website hosting plan with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally only one single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can choose one single email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning message and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all functionality can be activated without any effort if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domain names hosted in your account will be listed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll see a small logo conveniently situated right next to each one of them. With just one single click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature through the context menu that will appear. In case any of the prerequisites for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will inform you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
